Sausage check

Please ensure you always check your meat to make sure you get the full use out of it.

In case you are not aware of the practice, the comic above refers to the fad of using  a Meat Stylus on iPhone & iPad screens.
As these devices have a display that needs conductivity to work, using something like a pen, etc, will not let you use the interface.

Many savvy users quickly figured out that they could use sausages on their touch screens as a stylus, and have it work successfully.
The sausage conducts the bio-electric current and allows the screen to be used without actually touching it with your fingers.

The trend appears to have begun in South Korea when users wanted a solution to using their phones in the winter.
Apparently snack sausages were found to be electrostatically compatible with the iPhone’s capacitive touchscreen, leading many to use them as a “meat stylus” in the cold weather, rather than remove a glove.
And it’s not just a joke – apparently South Korean snack sausage sales soared.

One of the side benefits of this is that the users get to keep their screens fingerprint free, as well as having a tasty snack to use after a hard session of “Angry birds” or “Cut the Rope“.

Thundercats HO!

Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! THUNDERCATS! HO!

I used to love yelling that, while watching Lion-o and the rest of the Thundercats battle against the evil forces of Mumm-ra.
It was an awesomely great cartoon, and fit snugly into the “Science fiction/fantasy/ action/adventure” genre of the mid 80’s, besideother classics such as M.A.S.K, Silverhawks, Starblazers, Robotech and Transformers.

These Saturday morning classics (and others) are truly responsible in their own small way, for shaping the world we live in today.
A generation of people grew up watching them and were taught the messages they preached.

Messages such as:
– Be tolerant of others and work to accepting their differences
– Never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in and fight oppression in all it’s forms
– Don’t fear technology.  Instead, try to understand how it can improve your life.

I can see that these sentiments and beliefs have been picked up by many others of my generation.
I am very glad of that and I thank cartoons for making me, and so many others, what we are today.

For those out there keeping count, this is my 100th comic created for Agent-X comics.

It is both disturbing & fitting that the comic above is the one that gets this illustrious honour.
The  idea came to me totally out of the blue while I was doodling and sort of forced itself to become the comic  above. I also kind of like the idea that it is a little wrong, but still funny.

So, anyway, now that the 100 comics  milestone has passed, I will get back to making some more funny pictures for you all to enjoy in the future.

Thanks for visiting my site and commenting when the mood takes you. I am always happy to hear that what I do manages to make people laugh. That feedback makes what I am doing have some value to the world.

Onwards to 200 comics!

Medals are for losers!

At the time of posting this comic, the XIX Commonwealth Games in New Delhi are just 5 days away.
Already it is shaping up to be one of the most interesting sporting events for a while, due to the controversy surrounding it.
Reports are coming in thick and fast about the shoddy workmanship put into the construction of Games facilities, as well as concerns for athlete safety due to terrorist threats.

Something unplanned for  is bound to happen, and I am excited to see what it is.
I hope that it is nothing life threatening, but I am very keen to see a tiny little disaster, just to spice up the proceedings.

Only 5 days to wait, so let’s see what happens……

Inheritance

Someday this could be you!

Maybe someone you know will have this happen to them.

The scary thing is that at sometime in the very near future, we are going to either experience something similar first hand, or we will begin to hear news reports about people bequeathing their digital credits to family & friends.
It is inevitable.

There are so many online store credits out there, that sooner or later, we will bank them just like real money.
Once that happens it is a very short journey until people begin to leave these behind in their wills.
Some credits, such as Lindens (from Second Life) can be converted into real money, which would make leaving it behind in your will much easier.
But what about all those credits that cannot be converted? Do they just become useless digital data?
I don’t see why that has to be the case. After all, aren’t most financial transactions done online these days?
That means that even now, “real money” is just digital data being transferred around.
Online credits therefore, are just as valuable and useful as “real money”.

I would encourage you all to start tracking your online credits, whatever they may be, and plan to put them to good use when you go.
Think which relatives are truly deserving enough to get the Amazon & iTunes store credits.
The others can just get your Foursquare Mayorships.
