Touch Screen Haters Club

The future of computing is touch screen technology.

It is a fantastic interface, which offers intuitive navigation, instant interaction and the ability to present experiences in a manner we have never been able to do before.
Soon, everything will have a touch based navigation to it.

This is great news for most of us. Those of us, that is,who have the ability togenerate the touch pressure & bio-electric conduction required to make touchscreens work.
But spare a thought for those who will be unable to use the new technological marvels we are sure to be presented with soon.

The unlucky include:
– aliens who control things just with their minds
– characters with spikes for fingers
– monsters with huge sharp claws
– most hooved animals
– robots with caliper hands
– zombies (but only because they are too dumb)
– dinosaurs

So next time you buy a touch screen device, just think about all these things that won’t be able to enjoy it.

Ever since I got an iPhone 4, people have been asking me about it.
Specifically, they are interested in the issues that have been so widely publicised on the internet.

So, in answer to these people, I thought I would get Hurricane McHorne (The manliest unicorn) to review the phone & give his feedback on it.

McHorne kindly set aside time from tending to his ultimate manly moustache, and tried out the phone.
It was run through at least 4 tests and possibly bathed in Scotch.

Questions were asked.

Things were touched and pushed. (sometimes even on the phone).

Answers were found.
They may not be the answers you want, but hey – I can’t alter the laws
of science. Just live with it.

This has angered many, but not me.
I feel a cross promotion with Viagra & Apple is just around the corner. A very well-enhanced promotion with big bars and lots of touch activated fun….

Augmented laziness

This is what happens when augmented reality becomes too accessible.

How long will it be until we all rely on augmented reality way too much?
Like we already do, with mobile phones, internet, social media and google.

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are merged with (or augmented by) virtual computer-generated imagery – creating a mixed reality. The augmentation is conventionally in real-time and in semantic context with environmental elements.

Augmented reality has actually been around for years (eg: sports scores overlaid on TV during a match screening, or a “heads up” display for a Fighter Pilot).

However, having it accessible through mobile devices is about to take this to a whole new level.
This will be the new way to get information. Having this technology integrated with mobile devices makes it so easily accessible that we will not think twice before accepting what it says as the truth.

Augmented reality is already abeing used in many different iPhone apps and online.
Check out these 35 Awesome Augmented Reality Examples.

It is going to offer us a whole new world, which s ome will choose to keep their distance from, and others will attempt to live inside of constantly.

For me, I look forward to the day that I can use the technology to guide me to where I left my car keys.
