Here is the scenario –
You find a map that tantalizingly promises a treasure of untold wealth.
You follow the clues, battle through the obstacles and finally reach your goal!

Only to find that the prize is of no worth!
DAMN!

I find the story of Friendster both funny and educational.
It was first to market in the now popular social media space, but squandered the opportunity by not being a reliable service and not engaging it’s users enough to keep them. Read more about this here

Friendster let it’s position slip and MySpace took over.

Ahhh, MySpace.  Remember that site?

Anti-social Media

Anti-social Media published on 4 Comments on Anti-social Media

It seems that traditional media bosses and commentators are always criticising online “new media” sites, complaining that they are “stealing audiences” and that new media” is to blame for their falling profits.

Online sources of information such as twitter and blogs, can often make traditional methods of sharing important information seem rather slow and out of touch with audiences.

These “new media” outlet also offer alternatives for advertisers looking to showcase their brand to a target demographic.

Sometimes, existing tradtional media outlet can get very upset and personal in their attacks.

The resulting impression that I get from all of this, is of the “old media” coming across as a bunch of very anti-social grumps, getting angry at silly little things.
Placing blame instead of looking for solutions.
Resisting change for nothing more than a fear of looking like they may have something new to learn.

It is all pretty rediculous, I believe.
Can’t we all just get along?

That is the reasons of why I drew this comic.
That, and I also really liked drawing the television giving you the finger…..

Hence, the comic you now see before you.

You can’t really blame facebook though. They are just trying to stay viable to the massive user base they have already built up.Continue reading Facebook eyes off twitter

Bigfoot is finally found

Bigfoot is finally found published on 6 Comments on Bigfoot is finally found

The never ending search for bigfoot is a pastime that many americans do not take lightly.

There are organisations, local hunting groups, research groups, organised tour operators and more – all dedicated to finding the elusive Bigfoot (or Sasquatch).
In this day and age, I find it hard to believe we cannot find this creature.
As I have posulated in my comic, why don’t we just leave a bunch of iPhones near the sites they are regularly sighted, and wait until they post a brightkite map link, or show up in our tweetstreams?
Then – POUNCE!
